We head towards the South West for a visit to beautiful Bath. The site of Britain's only natural hot spring, why not enjoy a gentle stroll up to the Royal Crescent or spend an hour at the ancient ruins of the Roman Baths? This afternoon, we continue our journey to our sea view hotel in Weston-Super-Mare.
Steeped in Victorian history and dominated by a long stretch of glorious sandy beaches, Weston-Super-Mare offers plenty of traditional seaside fish and chip shops, amusements, and beautiful Edwardian-style tearooms to enjoy alongside a vast array of other attractions and shopping opportunities to explore.
Today's full day excursion starts with a trip to the ancient market town of Glastonbury. We continue with a lunchtime stop in Wells, England's smallest city and home to a magnificent cathedral; while you're here, don't forget to visit nearby Vicar's Close, the oldest residential street in Europe. After some free time, we return to our hotel via a drive through the spectacular Cheddar Gorge, Britain's deepest gorge and unsurprisingly designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
