After departures, we travel to our hotel in the Scottish Highlands, where a welcome drink awaits us before dinner.
Explore the villages of the spectacular Cairngorms National Park, with visits to Grantown-on-Spey and Aviemore, surrounded by towering mountains, sparkling lochs, and dense forests. We also include a breathtaking trip on the the Strathspey Steam Railway for a journey back in time to a bygone age of rail travel, offering relaxing views of the Cairngorms winter wonderland vista and passing through moorland, woods, and magnificent mountain scenery, all alongside the meandering River Spey.
Celebrate Christmas Day in the warmth and comfort of our charming hotel. After a delicious breakfast, why not enjoy a stroll through Carrbridge for yourselves? During our day, a traditional Christmas lunch will be served along with fun, festive entertainment.
Today's excursion sees us travel to Royal Deeside with our first visit to Braemar. Surrounded by mountains, Braemar is a delightful village in the heart of the outstanding Cairngorms National Park. Renowned for two castles and its traditional highland games, the Braemar Gathering, a unique experience that immerses you in the local culture. We also enjoy a brief stop in Crathie, whose little church is regularly attended by the Royal Family when staying at nearby Balmoral Castle. As our day ends, we return to our hotel for another evening of fine food and entertainment.
Filled with festive memories, we travel home.
Established over three hundred years ago, the hotel has been run by the Watt family for the past four decades. It has been extensively refurbished and extended to provide modern accommodation while retaining its character.
