We travel to our hotel in St Ives, making suitable comfort stops on the way.
An early start this morning takes us to Penzance to board our ferry for the Isles of Scilly. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for wildlife that might appear during the voyage - dolphins, puffins and basking sharks are known to inhabit these waters! Our ferry arrives in Hugh Town on St Mary's, the largest island in the archipelago, home to a cluster of shops, churches, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Explore the coastline features, large stretches of deserted white sandy beaches, dramatic rocky coves, stunning seascapes and beautiful walks that make these islands unique. We return via a late afternoon sailing back to Penzance, where our coach will wait to take us back to our hotel where a late dinner will be waiting for us.
Enjoy a full day in St Ives, the dazzling jewel in Cornwall’s crown. Explore the picturesque fishing harbour, wander through the maze of narrow cobbled streets, independent shops, artists studios and fisherman’s cottages in the heart of the resort and feel the sand between your toes on the quartet of golden beaches on this free day in your resort.
A full day excursion which takes us first to the Cornish 'capital' of Truro - don't miss the impressive cathedral and Lemon Quay, a cobbled continental style square. We also visit the popular yachting mecca of St Mawes, one of Cornwall’s most exclusive waterside villages. An important port in medieval times, the picturesque harbour is now awash with fishing boats, which are overlooked by the perfectly preserved St. Mawes Castle, guarding the harbour from its lofty perch.
We travel back home to the East Midlands.
Overlooking Porthminster Beach with stunning views, you can be on the beach from your hotel room in no time. With open-plan lounges to enjoy with each evening's entertainment, a break here is genuinely relaxing.
