We travel to Southport this morning via a scenic drive through the Peak District. Situated on the Sefton Coast, enjoy free time in this charming seaside resort. Stroll down the seafront and the one-hundred-and-fifty-year-old pier, have some good old-fashioned seaside fun or try one of many independent restaurants and cafes. Southport Market hosts a fantastic food hall with a large variety of cuisines. Afterwards, we continue to our overnight hotel.
We travel to Carlisle to board the world-famous Settle to Carlisle line. Running through the awe-inspiring scenery of the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbrian Fells, the Settle to Carlisle Railway line is renowned for its Victorian viaducts and long tunnels, including the colossal twenty-four arch Ribblehead Viaduct. Following our journey, enjoy some free time to explore Settle before we return home.
