We head south and journey across the English Channel before arriving at our hotel in Düsseldorf this evening.
After breakfast, we head to the centre of Düsseldorf to experience the city in all its festive glory. With its origins dating back to the Medieval Ages, the Düsseldorf Christmas Market is renowned for its authenticity and charm, attracting visitors from around the globe. As we stroll through the beautifully decorated streets lined with twinkling lights, you'll find an array of enchanting stalls filled with unique crafts, grand gifts, and delectable treats, including locally made gingerbread. We later return to our hotel for dinner.
Today, we take you to Cologne, where the magic of the festive season is alive! Located in front of the stunning Cologne Cathedral, the famous Christmas market is adorned with stalls that twinkle with lights, offering a wide variety of handmade gifts, from intricate ornaments to beautiful decorations, perfect for adding a touch of magic to your home. If you crave the warmth of traditional festive fare, the market showcases a variety of mouthwatering options, including bratwurst, mulled wine, and delicious pastries. For those wishing to explore more, the cobbled streets of the Old Town are home to the Alter Markt - look carefully to spot the gnomes peeping over the stall roofs! Dinner is again provided at our hotel this evening.
Bursting with cheer and a Christmas present or two, we retrace our footsteps back across the Channel before arriving home.
