After pickups this morning, we begin our journey via ferry to this evening's overnight hotel.
Our journey today takes us over the German border and through Bavaria, before crossing into Austria for the final leg. Upon our arrival at our Tyrolean hotel, a warm welcome and a welcome drink await us. Enjoy the cosy Alpine atmosphere and festive spirit throughout your stay as this evening's delicious dinner offers a taste of local cuisine.
After breakfast, we head to Hall in Tirol, a picturesque medieval town, for a visit to an enchanting Christmas market. Known as one of Austria's most beautiful Christmas markets, it oozes authentic charm and features traditional Tyrolean Christmas treats, decorations and a wide range of handcrafted gifts. On our return to the hotel, enjoy an afternoon at leisure; why not visit the spa, relax by the fire, or enjoy a walk in the snow?
Happy Christmas, or Frohe Weihnachten, as the locals say! Spend Christmas at your own pace, whether that means sleeping in, enjoying a late breakfast or taking a peaceful stroll through the winter landscape. At midday, we gather for a traditional festive turkey lunch complete with all the trimmings while another delightful dinner will be served this evening, rounding off a peaceful and cosy Christmas Day celebration in this winter wonderland setting.
After a leisurely start, we travel to the beautiful alpine city of Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol. Here, we enjoy a guided city tour exploring the city's historic Old Town and its festive atmosphere, admiring landmarks like the legendary Golden Roof, strolling along the elegant Maria Theresien Strasse or climbing the Tower of the City for magnificent views. Afterwards, immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the colourful Christmas Market, one of the most beautiful in Austria. A visit to the nearby Kiebachgasse is also worthwhile; known as 'fairytale alley', characters from some of the world's most beloved fairytales are brought to life. Our day concludes with a memorable Tyrolean evening, including local music, folk dancing, alpine horns and yodelling.
Embrace the scenic Tyrol, with an outing to the stunning Achensee, the region's biggest lake. Home to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, you'll find emerald green waters fed by alpine springs. Here, we enjoy a cruise on its waters followed by free time to explore.
We bid our Austrian hosts Auf Wiedersehen and start our journey home by road and ferry, with an overnight stop along the way.
