After departures, we travel south with a lunchtime stop in Worcester, a wonderful cathedral city before we continue to our hotel this afternoon.
We visit ancient Glastonbury home to a famous Tor and beautiful Abbey and Wells, England's smallest cathedral city. Finally, we return to our hotel via a meandering drive through spectacular Cheddar Gorge, Britain's deepest gorge and, unsurprisingly, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Steeped in Victorian history and dominated by a long stretch of glorious sandy beaches, Weston-Super-Mare offers seaside favourites to enjoy alongside a vast array of other attractions and shopping to explore.
We have arranged a journey on the West Somerset Railway - the longest heritage railway in England! Our nostalgic twenty-mile trip starts in Bishops Lydeard and will take us to Minehead, home to a historic fishing harbour. We also visit medieval Dunster, found in the Exmoor foothills.
After a leisurely start this morning, we begin our homeward journey.
