We depart and travel north across the border for a via a visit to Moffat, a vibrant bustling market town offering the warmest of Scottish welcomes,, en route to our hotel where a warm welcome awaits.
A leisurely start this morning as we set forth via a quick photo opportunity at the famous Kelpies, which standing at 100 feet tall are the world's largest equine sculptures. From here we continue to the award-winning Scottish Seabird Centre, to learn about Scotland’s marine wildlife, habitats and iconic seabirds, before a sea cruise from North Berwick to Bass Rock & Craigleith Cliffs keeping our eyes peeled for puffins, grey seals along the way and the chance to see the spectacular Bass Rock gannet colony featured in BBC1's Wild Isles.
Day at leisure to relax and enjoy your spectacular surroundings in Drymen, nestling in the hills at the western end of the Campsie Fells, overlooking the Endrick Water as it nears Loch Lomond.
This morning we head to the 'Bonnie Banks' of Loch Lomond for an included visit to the Sealife Centre where you will come face-to-face with the cheeky resident otter and embark on a fascinating journey from the shores of Loch Lomond to the depths of the world’s oceans in 7 themed zones, including an interactive rockpool experience. Afterwards there will be some free time at the award-winning Loch Lomond Shores Visitor Attraction - feed the ducks on the beach whilst watching out for opsreys sweeping over the loch or maybe take a stroll in the woodland, keeping a look out for the bats and moths at this time of year, or you may simply prefer to indulge in a little retail therapy.
We head to Loch Katrine this morning for a 1-hour cruise followed by a light lunch of soup & sandwiches at The Lochside Café. From here we make our way to the Ardgaty Red Kites where we can get close up to the magnificent creatures and learn all about Scotlands stunning birds of prey, from persecution to extinction in the Victorian era, then more recently to reintroduction and beyond, including the threats they face in the wild today.
Today we take you on a wildlife mountain safari and red deer experience in Highland Perthshire, where after learning about these amazing majestic animals you'll come face to face with Britain’s largest native land mammal and have the chance to feed them. During the safari if you watch out you may even be lucky enough to see the the famous Grouse, the elusive Mountain Hare, or the soaring Golden Eagle.
This morning we begin our homeward journey making suitable comfort stops en route.
Situated in the heart of the Loch Lomond National Park, The Winnock Hotel is set in an eighteenth-century building and features an on-site bar and a restaurant serving British cuisine.
