We travel to the Victorian spa town of Harrogate. With Christmas lights sparkling in the trees along The Stray, the town has a truly magical, festive feel. Why not head into the town centre and pick up a unique handmade gift - the perfect stocking filler for a loved one (or to keep for yourself!)?
After breakfast, we visit Newcastle, which is full of festive cheer. You can browse among twinkling lights and seasonal decorations, discovering great presents for friends and family or even as a secret Santa gift!
This morning, we visit Durham for some free time. Home to cobbled streets crowned by the dramatic Durham Cathedral, explore the cathedral's fascinating heritage particularly poignant at this time of year. We later continue home today.
The Holiday Inn Washington provides a friendly and comfortable night's stay in a contemporary, feature-rich room.
