We depart and travel towards Looe. On arrival at the Portbhyan Hotel, you'll be welcomed by a traditional Cornish cream tea. <br />

We visit the ancient smuggler's port of Mevagissey, an attractive harbourside village. Explore the winding streets and find a wealth of gift shops, craft workshops, galleries, cafés and pubs. You'll also find the World of Model Railway exhibition, the excellent Mevagissey Local History Museum, and an aquarium in the old lifeboat house. Later, we head to Liskeard for a journey on the Looe Valley Line Railway. This trip back to Looe has beautiful views, passing wooded valleys and picturesque landscapes teeming with wildlife along the way.

Looe is a picturesque fishing port in South East Cornwall, home to soft, golden beaches and award-winning restaurants. Enjoy spending your free day here, where you can visit the Looe Museum, home to smuggling memorabilia, the town's railway heritage sites, or stroll around the harbour, all just a stone's throw from our hotel.

This morning, we travel via the notorious smugglers haunt of Jamaica Inn and the Bodmin Moor to the vibrant fishing village of Port Isaac. You might remember this area as the fictional village of Portwenn from TV's much-loved 'Doc Martin'. Lying on a stunning stretch of coastline, this haven is a pleasure to walk around, with a gorgeous port and a little beach. You can also book a boat tour, which is perfect for seeing the sights from the sea.

Made famous by Rick Stein, Padstow is renowned for its quaint quayside full of Cornish charm as well as fresh seafood restaurants and its other eateries. Here you'll also find miles of beaches, from which you can see the Doom Bar, a treacherous sandbank that's caused over six hundred shipwrecks. After some free time, we head further up the coast to the village of Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur and home to the remains of the thirteenth century castle stand today.

Overlooking a river estuary, Fowey is a quaint town situated in an Area of Natural Beauty, popular with the with the yachting fraternity. Why not explore the winding lane, stroll along the Esplanade or take a guided boat tour up the river (not included) on this half-day trip? This afternoon, we'll return to Looe for more free time.

After breakfast, we return home to the East Midlands today.
